The city of Adelanto was originally founded as an investment for the local water company, but eventually became a prime location for mineral mining to support the development of aerospace companies during World War II. Since this time, the area has grown to include numerous businesses including agriculture producers, retail shops, technology companies, public school districts, colleges, and several other major employers. Adelanto is a desirable location, near many other small cities including Hesperia, Apple Valley, Yucaipa, and Helendale. Its close to plenty of shops & restaurants, as well as recreation areas including the California Tralee Golf Course.
